We are servant leaders.
The Music Project is a 501 (c)(3) based in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
At the core, The Music Project empowers performing artists to create emotionally engaging and intellectually relevant performances and presentations delivered through multiple channels including live performance.
- we believe in listening before making a sound
- we share a contagious passion for creatively and genuinely connecting with those around us
- we understand music as a privilege…a gift to be shared
- we think in shapes and colors
Posture is audible.
The Music Project began as an orchestra of musically gifted, generous-minded young people dedicated to sharing their love of music with communities around the world. Acceptance into this ensemble is at no cost to families – participants must demonstrate a love of music, a willingness to both learn and teach others, a strong sense of community, and an openness to try new things.
In addition to weekly rehearsals and performances throughout the year, each member is required to participate in one “project” that can be tangibly measured at the end of the season. Project ideas are presented by peers and voted on by interest and creativity. Each project is led by an adult volunteer project leader, with experience in real world situations not necessarily involving music.
Auditions to The Music Project are done electronically via YouTube. Click here for more information…
